The Western Illinois Museum welcomes two local historic interpreters, Estelle Bath and Nancy Chu, to give online workshops on creating Victorian Tree Decorations. They will guide you through making five Victorian style decorations for your tree. The workshop is best suited for children age six and above with adult supervision.

When are the workshops held: We'll be LIVE on Our Front Porch through the Museum’s YouTube channel on Saturdays, December 5th and 12th at 9:30 am. You can use the comment section to ask questions and share your projects!

What will you make during the workshop: Like the Victorians, the December 5th workshop will use everyday materials that can be repurposed for making a tree festive. The December 12th workshop expands the materials to include other items found around the house like cinnamon sticks, candy, and even evergreen boughs. Prepared packets of materials for the workshop are available for pick up at the Museum.

How to Sign-up: To request materials and get the link to join the workshops select the date you'd like to attend. We'll email you back the link and information when to pick up the materials. There is a suggested $5 donation to cover the cost of the workshop.

Dates are subject to change; information about any changes and cancellations can be found on the museum’s website www. wimuseum.org.

This series is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
